Peper's Plant Churches in Sierra Leone
Even though we are in the midst of the rainy season, our churches haveexperienced excellent growth. The average for the month of August was 705 with 342 accepting the Lord as Savior. Last Sunday we had a total of 810 in the churches. Because all of our baptismal services are conducted outside, we only baptized 47 due to the heavy rains. I am planning on returning to the States this month. Spiritually, this has been a very profitable nine months. As I reflect on where we were just a year ago....less than 200 in our churches....I am so amazed at what the Lord has done in such a short time.
We have our 12 churches with a new one beginning in Mekeni this month. Last year the Bible Institute was started and this month we will be adding our sophomore year. Monday will mark the start of a new elementary school. In the two schools we anticipate approximately 450 students. Also, the feeding program will expand to 5 days a week for each of the students. The college ministry is averaging 270 a month in three locations. Since this ministry began last June, we have had 386 college students saved.
We feel like we have a solid foundation on which we can build. With our members being discipled, there is an increased confidence in the spiritual growth of this ministry. I am always aware of the fact that none of this would be possible without you. A "thank you" does not seem adequate. May God continue to bless you in a wonderful way.

Bogata, Colombia, SA and the Highlands Camp
As far as the Evangelistic Event for Parents (August 6 and 7), we we're bit disappointed with the attendance. I think the last figure was 287 parents who attended. So in spite of factoring in the "no shows", we didn't calculate it well. There were over 100 people that stayed here in Bogota who could have gone if we had just known so many were not going to show up. We had about 2/3 women and 1/3 men. The latest figure as far as people saved was 97 adults. We had several Christians that slipped through, so the proportion was probably close to 40% of the lost who responded to the invitation. We have to get better at filtering out the Christians that just want a free camp, and estimating those who don't show up so that we accept more applications.
This past Sunday we had a special service for all of the parents who went camp. We had over 632 people in our services. That is almost double what we were averaging. By the end of the day, 4 more adults had accepted Christ as Saviour. I think it was a very worthwhile effort. Thank God for the 120 volunteers we had at camp, and all the great people that helped here in Bogota!
We just moved into a larger rented facility last February, and it appears that we will be starting a 2nd service shortly.

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing you to give testimony of the faithfulness of God in our ministry.
The 14th and 18th of June we had our Baptist Fellowship Youth Camp at the Iglesia Bautista Biblica of Orlando, Florida with pastor Antonio Rivera. There were four participant churches from the states of North and South Carolina, Florida, and Texas, with an attendance of 54 campers. The developed theme was "Discovering the invisible" with an environment reverent and propitious for the Holy Spirit to act in a way so special that there were four decisions for salvation and 51 for consecration and service to God. Two of our youth, Isaias and Judith, made a decision to help us in the Vacation Bible School at the apartments in Pasadena and at a home in Katy, TX. God gave us 16 decisions for salvation. Isaias and Judith also decided to continue with a Good News Club in Katy for the next six months.
As you already know, the 4th of December of 2008 we h ad the opportunity of organize ourselves as a church. We have seen the hand of God blessing us in a marvelous way; one of the blessings is adopting as our missionary the family of our brother Angel de Leon in Austin, TX, who have been doing a wonderful job with a few families, leading to give a step of faith to the organization of the first Baptist church of our fellowship in the capital of Texas. The special service of organization was the 27th of June at 2:00 PM with the participation of a council of six pastors from Mexico and Texas.
Our brothers Angel Gonzalez, Carlos Landeros, and Josue Salazar, are collaborating teaching in Sunday school, or preaching during the activities that we have throughout the week. Please pray for the opportunity to have a specific place to have our services during the week in Katy.
From the 26th to 30th of June we had our national reunion of pastors in Benson, NC with Pastor Daniel Garcia. There were five pastors participating in preaching during the morning and the night services. God blessed us with His word and we plan to work in a team to prepare our youth for the ministry.

News from Paul Auckland
I talked yesterday to Pastor Paul Auckland of Faith Baptist Church, Sellersville, PA. He is an alumn of TTU '78. Danny, you will love this; he has planted 7 churches in the region over the past 10 years. He grows his church to 600 then takes 100 and sends them to a region here near Philly to do a new church plant. Last year's is running 200 now. He is a man on a mission.
We talked on the phone yesterday and I'll meet with him in my next visit to the Philly/NYC area at the end of Oct. Here was his comment. "I can't believe someone from Temple has called. I have never had anyone from TTU ever contact me." Glenn, contact him and he is very willing to send some news on what God is doing with his church in these amazing days of Gospel advance. Having great meetings in the area and speak in two churches around the Philly area tomorrow. See you all next week.
